Gene Carr Lady Bountiful

Large, oblong cartoon book of several strips of Mr. Carr's work. Gene Carr worked as a cartoonist for the new York Herald and New York World and Evening Hournal in NY, plus others....Lady Bountiful was among his early works....He was one of the earliest of the Sequential Panel comic creators. Lady Bountiful was Sadie Carr, brother of Gene. Sadie was a Ziegfeld Girl, a dancer...Sadie had 15 children, 12 of them survived to adulthood! (information from Comic World, Steinbach, Canada). Paper darkened with age and a large 3 inch stain is on all pages on the right hand side, most severely on the rear. The picture still is visible through the stain. Still a very rare item.
