McGuffey's Eclectic Fourth Reader
Cincinnati Truman and Smith 1839 6th Hardcover Used: Acceptable Hardcover
"Enlarged, Improved, and Stereotyped." Dated 1839, which makes this book very old--and it looks every bit of its age. Leather-bound with a lot of edgewear, chipping, & scuffs. Cover boards are still attached to binding. Spine & cover show cracking & chipping in the leather, but the title band is very readable considering its age; gold bars are still visible above and below the band. Significant corner wear to cover boards. Tear in upper edge of spine leather. Text is still readable, but there is significant age spotting throughout. Heavy tanning to exterior of text block. Might have had some water damage, but I can't tell for sure. Binding strength isn't bad for such an old book, but it should be handled gently. Some penciled names inside the cover; one is dated 1841. For collectors only.
