I'm not sure of the publisher or date; the cloth is red & the type is like that of the customer image on amazon.com; however, there's no gilt border on the front cover. Spine lettering is so faded you can barely read it, but the cross is still barely visible if you squint. Also, there are no illustrative plates inside; whether they were removed, I can't tell. There's no title page or publisher info inside the front. In any case, the books has the looks, paper thickness, & typestyle of a turn-of-the-century hardback. A solid reading copy. Binding old but secure. Cover rubbed. 374 pgs. [4898a]
